Here are my takeaways from the scorecard above:

Heather Mizeur had a wonderful month attracting new followers. Her team added the most new Facebook and Twitter followers over the past month and continues to hold the overall follower lead on those platforms.

Anthony Brown added a significant number of new followers on Facebook but trailed all candidates with new followers on Twitter. This team continues to put out new videos and that can only help with overall outreach.

Doug Gansler added a nice number of new followers on Facebook and Twitter. This team is also publishing new videos regularly.

I continue to omit Ralph Jaffe, Charles Smith and Cindy Walsh from the scorecard due to the lack of overall outreach from these candidates. I did get an interesting comment last month:

Cindy Walsh on May 8, 2014 at 11:51 am said:
It appears you have forgotten the Cindy Walsh for Governor of
Maryland on the democratic ticket. My campaign website has more
visits daily than any of the candidates you list above. It seems
you like global corporate pols and not labor and justice pols!
Better watch where these global corporate pols are leading—-
government through global corporate tribunals as with Trans PacificTrade Pact doesn’t end well for WE THE PEOPLE.

Based on that comment I went to have a look at the Cindy Walsh website (http://www.citizensoversightmaryland.com/). Let me make a couple of comments. First, using “weebly” to create a website does not give it that “wow I want to vote for that candidate” look and feel. Second, If you are going to list a Facebook link on the website it might be a good idea to make sure it works or just remove it. A bad link (again) does not give a person that “wow I want to vote for that candidate” feeling.

Of course the reality of followers, likes, and subscribers does not mean a lot when it comes down to voting in the end, but it is a fun exercise to do and makes a great resource for following all of these candidates.
